Are you ready to take the first steps on your journey to become a foster carer?
Check your eligibility with our questionnaire
Welcome to Wanslea foster care eligibility questionnaire. You will be asked to answer a few short questions to determine if you are eligible to become a foster carer.
Do you have a spare bedroom?
Foster children need to have a room of their own. If you don’t currently have a spare room, but have a plan to make this space, e.g. converting a theatre room into a bedroom, own children sharing a bedroom, one of our staff will call you back after your completed questionnaire has been received.
Are you aged over 21?
It is a requirement that you are over 21 years of age to become a Wanslea foster carer.
Are you an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident?
To be able to foster through Wanslea, it is a requirement that you are an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
Do you have a valid driver’s licence and your own vehicle?
Are you and other household members willing to undergo background and police checks?
Everyone in your home needs to undergo background checks to show it’s a safe place for a child.
Do you, or any household member, smoke?
As long as any household members smoke outside, you may be eligible to foster children over the age of two.
Please complete the form in order to progress to the next step. One of Wanslea Foster Care staff will assess your answers to the previous questions and give you a call to discuss your expression of interest further.
